How does one prepare for taking the CSWP exams? I'm really good at the parts of SW that I use, but I know that there are other parts I know nothing about. Are there any sample tests out there, or lists of the topics covered?

Hi Jason,

On the SolidWorks site, under Training & Certification -> Certification, there is the information you need about the availbale certification exams. It gives a full list of topics you need to be comforatble with and it also has a sample exam.

I would recommend taking the CSWA before you take the CSWP. It is an easier test and it will give you a good indication on your skill level. If you have any questions about the topics covered I am sure everybody here would be glad to help.
I found the cswp sample exam here but that is pretty much useless (questions 1 and 2 ask the same thing but have different possible answers - same with 3 and 4 - not to mention that the answer key lists values that were not options). I really hope that this is not what the actual test is like. It says these 4 questions should take 20-30 minutes, does that mean that the entire 3 hour exam is only 24-36 questions?

The cswa sample exam looks much better (although I haven't finished it yet, at least question 1 works out)
The total question are 15. The question are linked with each other i.e there will be change in the dimensions only and hence a different answer. Also read the questions and instructions given with each question carefully. Go through the complete question before starting the modeling. Design tables and equations can be helpful.
Well, I guess I should have actually tried the SCWP sample exam instead of just quickly looking at the questions, it is a useful sample after all.
Thanks for the tips! I see the offer for a free exam for subscription customers is back. I'm definitely going to take one now.
Looks like I passed... :)
