SolidWorks Geeks

I am using SolidWorks 2006. I need to do a 3D profile cut from the assembly. I seen it done once, but never needed it till now. I am using customer supplide parts, and need to build fixtures and machines around them. At this time I have a molded part, and I need to locate it. To do this I need a part profile transfered to the locators. How do you do this.

I can not attch the files to large for my home connection.

Thank you for your time.

In assembly, edit the part in which you need that cut. Now go to Insert > Features > Cavity and select the other part whose portion you want to remove from the part. Click OK and you should be done. Hope this solves the issue.

Yes it worked Thank you.
