Forum Posting. A must read before starting a discussion here

Dear All,

First of all I would like to thanks you all for your continued support to make this group a success. We are looking for more discussions out here on the group and will be happy to see everyone is part of that. This group is by the members, for the members and of the members. So do share your tips, tricks or any query. Remember that whenever we are sharing something we may be learning a new thing.

A thought came to my mind last night and I’m happy to share it with all of you. It is regarding posting/uploading the files this forum/group.

I would like to share few things regarding posting/uploading files. First make sure that you include all the related files. People generally forgot to upload the parts file when they upload an assembly or a drawing. Secondly upload a zip file (if possible) rather than a native file. Third suppress your features/parts by suppressing them or using the roll back option. The second and third steps will reduce the file size giving many benefits as compare to when you upload a native file. Less file size means less time required to upload/attach and download. Also we might be saving a lot of space on the server. Though space is not a constraint right now but it is going to make no harm if we can save some extra bytes on the server. You can also use the same method for posting or sending file in your emails or even on other groups/forums.

The most important, look for the appropriate section to post. Don't post your queries into BLOG section.

I look forward to hear from you all on this and want to know if you feel this is going to make any difference to you as compare to old method of uploading/downloading files.

Hi Deepak,
you are right, good suggestion. Also, if we are uploading the native file, we need to give importance to the format of the file.
For example, if we are uploading an image file, Jpg format has the least file size when compared to gif or tif or any other format.
