Linked Values (IAM NEW IN SW)
Hi all. My name is Bruno, I' am an Industrial Designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Im in the introductory phase of this promising program SW.
Of course I have my doubts as a rookie.
In the video tutorial I am following, the SW version is earlier than I have in my computer (2012).
The boy shows a useful function called "linked values", where any changes you make to the dimensions of the selected dimension will be reflected also in the one I chose.
Exploring the section of "help" I found that the new edition does not have this option.
(proposes to perform the same function through the button "equations") but not the same for me.
By deploying the equation editor function than previously ment short, simple operation, in the current version doesn't feel like a quick way to perfrom linked values If you have to type an equation each time you need to relate to values.
Can anyone help me? It is this "equation editor" what I'm looking for?

You can do this in 2012, I think that the release notes have a comment about this being incorrectly removed from the help menu.
If you RMB on a dimension you can select Link Values. It will ask for a name (something descriptive of the dim) then select another dim, do the same and pick the name you typed. Alternatively you can pick two dimensions and RMB and select Link Values.In 2012 the eq editor was improved along with the ability to add eq's into the dimension box.
So another way (quicker) is to add a dim, then type "=" into the dim box, now pick another dimension to link it to and you pretty much have the same functionality as link values.

I am trying to do the "dim thing" but nothing appears with finished drawings.
May be It's an useful option when you are drawing...but I can't apply it with my "finished draw".
Still I think the 2011 "shared values" was faster beause you could pick a dimension and just with the arrow, link it under the same parameter from the other dimensions.
Now you have to pick each dimension to associate it. Anyway ICANT FIND THE "DIM"THING>
