SolidWorks Geeks

Hello,
We are a small business trying to understand how to set up SolidWorks on a network.  Does anyone have any experience doing this and are there any special considerations we need to account for?

That's a big question. Is there a SW reseller in your area that could help you?

My questions would be:
1. Are you setting up individual licenses or network?
2. Are you just using the network to share files and not setting up network licenses?
3. How many users are we talking about?
Yes I do realize it's a broad and large question, but I really have no experience in networks. Basically I'm moving and my boss would still like me to design for him so I need to be able to access SolidWorks outside the office. I don't think we will be adding any licenses yet. We do also want to try and set it up so that other people in the office can access the solidworks files on my computer. And we're a small company with really only about 5 people, 4 of which would want to access solidworks.
We do something similar where I work, but all inside the office. We have all of our file stored on the 'main' computer, and when we want to work on a file, we have to copy it off the main computer to our individual pc. Only one person has the rights to copy SW files back to the main computer, via windows permissions/user controls (don't remember the specifics on this). Basically one person is given read/write access to the files, and everyone else only read access.

One thing to remember, it's not even advised to work on files within the same building over a network, always copy and work locally.
