SolidWorks Geeks

Does anyone have any tips on creating product manuals in Solidworks. Currently I am creating drawing views and hiding diffrent parts in an assembly step by step. I then export them as a PDF and put them into adobe Illustrator to play with them a bit more for some fine tuning. This takes forever. Is there any tips. I've considered purchasing 3d via composer but I don't know if it's worth it or not. Its a big price tag, but if it will pay for it self then it is worth it.

If you're looking at an interactive manual, I would vote for 3dvia.

Ask your VAR for a demo.

Is there any alternative to 3d via composer? Does 3d via have a competitor that is less expensive.
I'm not sure if there is any competitor available which is as good as 3DVIA
