SolidWorks Geeks

I am trying to directly link a curve or line in SW to a table in Excel. It can be done by storing the table as a text file and then loading it as a spline but this gets old fast if you have 30 or 40 tables or more.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thank you Deepak so much for your information and the effort you have made to help me. Unfortunately I am only a Newbe Geek and I have had no luck extracting these files. They come as .SWP files and I have been unable to find anything that will open them without messing them up. Can you help me with this probably simple problem. Perhaps you could e-mail them to me at drjmb924@gmail.com.

Thank you Ray. I was able to retrieve your macro and I did attemp to run it. As you might guess I am using SW 2006 and several of your lines of code were a problem.
" Dim sketchFeat As Feature",
and it didn' like
"If Mid(dataStr, I, 1) = Chr(9) Then"
for starters. It didn't recognize the "Mid" . I expect there is a work around.
Again thankyou for your time and effort.

Jeff
Jeff,

These are macro files and you can run then by clicking run on the macro toolbar or Tools > Macro > Run. Your other post says that you were able to run the macro by Ray so did you had any chance with these macros.
Thank you, Thank you, for your macros. I finally engaged my brain, with your help, and have both of then now. The only remaining problem seems to be that I am too far out of data. I am still using SW 2006 and I do not have the necessary Libraries to run any of these macros. I will study the code and see if I can find a work around. They are beautifully written and nicely documented. Thanks again.

Jeff,

I have SW2006 on one of my machine and I'll see if I can fix the macro.
That would be wonderful. I'm sorry to be such a pain, but I have atleast a year invested in this project and a break through in this problem will be a great, great step forward.

Jeff
Hi Jeff, sorry for missing out the post and losing the track. Were you able to fix the issue.
