SolidWorks Geeks

Is there anyway to restrict how things are being changed in solidworks with out having PDM work? We currently have a co worker that does not fully understand how solidworks works yet and is changing parts that affect a lot of assemblies he is not aware of?

If the files are stored on a network or computer other than the coworkers, restrict the permissions on the location so only specific users can write to the location.
Why not teach him SolidWorks ;-)

I don't think there will be any good option other than what Mark has suggested for the current situation.

OR tell him to ask the team before modifying any file.
yeah we have all tried explaining and showing him things in the simplest way possible so the whole teaching him is a good idea which we have done he has also been sent to solidworks classes to teach him. I believe solidworks just doesn't click in his mind how files operate together. also he is supposed to follow a simple set a directions for changing things also but that failed to. well thanks for the input guys.

Best will to teach him via some tutorials (containing pics) explaining which commands to use, what those commands mean and when/where to use them, Just my 2 cents.
