I agree with you Jeff. Till modeling this part is OK but the flat pattern will be different than this (i.e. will have a bigger hole) And to add, in the folded state the thickness will vary too. The other option might be to bend the L shaped profile…

Yes it can be accomplished but there will be limitation in the height. The height will depend on the inner diameter.

While complex flanges can be created, I'm pretty sure that one would be too complex. Even if you were to get it to work in sheet metal, I doubt it would flatten. It'd be interesting to see if it can be done though.

You can also add a "Scale" feature (Insert, Feature, Scale).

alright i went to the advanced options and removed anything that was checked and now after unchecking all of what was checked when i open an assembly solidworks opens up like several other part and assemblies. Is there a reason that is happening?
