Motion Study - Cam/Spring/Torque

I have a simple motion study to evaluate the torque required to rotate a cam that is compressing a spring so I can specify the correct size motor and gear reducer. I would like for you guys to check it out to insure it is done correctly. This is a very heavy duty die spring. 2080 lbs/in, 1" dia X 1" free length.the wire is oblong - .170" X .218". I have pre-loaded the spring by 0.08". The report states that it takes about 71.5 lbs/in of torque to turn the cam shaft. Do you guys…See More
